Mahatma Gandhi is primarily considered a proponent of morality and a savior of society. Morality was his life, and he himself was a religious man. Therefore, his social policy, or politics, was also based on morality and spirituality. Gandhiji said that he had come to spiritualize politics. Gandhiji was a Smritikar like Manu and Yagyavalkya and a prophet like Mahatma Buddha and Jesus, who provided new light to ignorant and misguided humanity regarding duty and non-duty, dharma and adharma. Therefore, Gandhi is considered a man of the era.
