This study explores the multifaceted role of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in promoting women's empowerment at the global level. The primary objective of this internship was to gain firsthand experience of grassroots initiatives focused on legal aid, gender awareness, self-defense training, menstrual hygiene education, and rehabilitation support. Each week was designed with specific objectives, including participation in awareness programs, documentation of inspiring success stories, assistance in program evaluation, and preparation of outreach materials. The internship highlighted the importance of community engagement, the crucial role of NGOs in bridging the gap between policy and grassroots realities, and the practical challenges involved in ensuring women's safety and empowerment. Through field visits, case studies, and impact assessments, the internship provided a comprehensive understanding of how NGOs function as agents of social change. This study not only presents the outcomes of the internship but also examines the strategies adopted by NGOs to promote the welfare and empowerment of women in India.
